Christmas in Perth

Peek-a-boo
G'day folks, it's Tulley here.

Well daddy has been away for almost a month and so I have had some great adventures with mamma in Perth.

The camper has been getting fixed since we discovered that water leaked into some of the storage compartments and all my clothes went mouldy! I didn't really mind though, since its been so hot and I love to be nudie anyway.

Me and my buddy Samson
Hanging with Babcia
Without our home, we have been very lucky to have family and friends take us in. We spent 4 days in Cannington with Babcia and Jardek who spoilt us with yummy polish food and gave up their bed so that we could be comfy! Then we went off to Kate's house in Claremont for almost 2 weeks, and I got to play with a squidgy-liscious little boy called Samson.

Samson is great fun for me to poke
Samson and I went swimming and riding together and I had fun donking him on the head with the telephone. I liked poking him because he would squawk. Mum has been having fun with friends, and spending all of dad's money at the shops - mostly on clothes and chocolate!

Christmas with my Pra-Babcia!
Just as I was starting to get my way with Samson, mum packed everything up, and off we went to stay with Grannie and Grandpa in Kingsley for Christmas. I must have been a very, very good boy because Santa visited me twice - on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I got lots of presents that mummy helped me open - clothes, an underwater puzzle, two laptops, a little couch that folds into a bed, the story book of Pinocchio, and a musical worm!! On Christmas day I was a bit grumpy though, because I didnt want to share my presents with my cousin Jude. We had a screaming match and Auntie Fi said we would both end up with a lump of coal for Christmas next year if we didn't learn to share.

Raaaaaaaaaah its MINE!!!! Fighting with Juju
Auntie Fi cheered me up with the trumpet

SOME OF MY ACHIEVEMENTS:
Learning to play the Didge
Mastering eating with a spanner, and getting away with sitting on the table
Holding my breathe under water
Riding a mountain lion
Riding Miss Ella Rose
Riding a bike

Riding the pram - it's the only way mum can keep me in there for an hour
Growing a nose as big as my daddy's!

We have been very spoilt and cared for by everyone we have stayed with in Perth, and with this crazy heat wave, the air-conditioning has been a relieving luxury!!  Its only a matter of days till dad comes home and we will begin our journey on the road again. Mum says that dad says we dont know where we are going yet. Mum says dad always decides at the last moment, so it will be a big surprise. Either way, wherever we go, there will be beach, bush and waves!!!

It's only the beginning....

It’s hard to believe our first month of freedom is nearly over.  Slowly we are making our way to the big city smoke so Sham can return to work for a month, and Jane, Tulley and Roxy can spend Christmas with the family.

The sticky salty residue and scent of the ocean is washed away, and replaced by mains water showers. The soothing sound of the waves crashing, is now replaced by the constant hum of cars and modern technology.

All that remains of our first trip are the memories we hold, and the photos Sham took. As we share our photos and reflect upon the good times, the feelings of freedom, and of being alive amongst the elements, are re-ignited within.

Here is a taste of what we hold in our hearts.

Our cubby house
Not a bad view from the camper

With the full awning and annex set up, our home feels snug and secure, and living is a luxury.  The space of a king size bed is fantastic, but somewhat pointless, as Tulley seems to prefer sleeping on mum and dad’s heads instead of his side of the bed. The camper has stood her ground through some windy and stormy weather, and we only noticed the canvas flapping a few times when Tulley decided to remove the tent pegs and use them as implements to torment poor Roxy.

After 2 years, Jane has picked up her surf betty again
However, she needs ALOT more practise

Perfect bazzas for Sham
Tulley runs a-muck, mum bathes and Roxy enjoys... a cup of tea??
Almost everyday Sham would catch us fresh fish
- skippy, salmon, herring, cod, snook, and abalone
Sham's awesome fry-up - best way to start the day.
Tulley's diet was pretty much fresh fish and boob

Epic sunsets

And thunderstorms

And one happy boy in mother nature's playground

That's all folks

Welcome to our Adventures!

A little bit of all of YOU to take with us
Well this is it - the time has come to say goodbye as we hit the road and begin our trek into the wilderness of deep Esperance, following the sandy tracks, and dad's trusty nose, as he sniffs out some of the best waves the South Australian coastline has to offer.

The search is on for more of these!
Sham, who works for 28 days straight on a steel rig, can barely contain himself as he breaks free from what feels like prison walls, in search of some of the gnarliest, most challenging and inspiring waves on the south coast. With his boards, fishing rods, camera, camper rig, family and dog - Dad will be content for the next 28 days.

Vanessa - dear magnificent friend,
 Tulley's 'other' mamma
Mum is excited, but she leaves behind a sisterhood of women in Denmark, who have been her nudie-in-the-river swimming, raw chocolate eating, bootie shaking-under-the-rainbow-moonlight sisters. These women have been a source of wisdom, wildness and laughter, as inhibitions (and clothes) were shed often!! Leaving you women and this extraodinary little community pulls at heart strings. You will be travelling with us in spirit on our journey always.
